I
am 36 years of age and it seemed that with each year passing, the fat
under my chin was sagging my face more and more. I am a slim guy and to
get rid of this fat, is a very hard task. So I decided to do something
about this. I went to the Body Beautiful Show in London. That is where
I met Ash. Out of all the people I talked to that day (probably over 40
people), Ash was the only one there that didn't treat me as a ticket
item, he spent time understanding what I wanted, then he explained what
could be achieved. He treated me with respect and cared about what I
wanted. To me that is important. I thought this is the person I want to
do the surgery by, someone who really cares about his patients.
Well
I did what any person would do, I went home and looked up Ash's
credentials, his before and after work and then sent an email saying I
would like to proceed forward. To be honest I was a little apprehensive
about going to India for treatment, because I thought of India as over
populated dirty streets and grimey hospitals. The great news is that I
was wrong and the handouts Ash gave me are real! The hospital is a
brand new hospital, you are on the 6th floor, I call the 'celebrity
floor' as there aren't many people on the floor at all, as it's
private. The room I stayed in make the NHS hospital rooms look like
rat's nests. The room was so clean you could eat off the floor. [Not
recommended but you could.]
Well, I also decided to get my face treated for some scarring at the same time, this made the lipo of my chin into a face lift.
When
it comes to surgery, cheaper is not necessarily better, it all starts
with having a good surgeon. Well, with Ash at the helm, I knew I was
going to get less expensive surgery with a very capable surgeon - best
of both worlds.
I decided to have some of my acne
scars treated as well. So when I arrived, Ash and his colleague talked
about different procedures to treat my scaring. In my case (will of
course vary between different people) a full face lift would be needed
to get the results I was after. As you could understand a a full face
lift is a lot more surgery than a chin lipo, so I paid the extra and
awaited surgery the next day.
The surgery went very well.
The
nursing and hospital staffs were exceptional. They treated me so well;
it made me feel like I was on holidays. Even a dietician came each day
to help me choose my food menu for the day. After the surgery I had my
own private nurse in the room for a day. So, no need to push a button
and wait. That was handy. After the first day I was fine, and just
relaxed in the hospital bed, letting my face heal, watching the cricket
and bollywood films. The hard part after the surgery was sleeping on my
back instead of the side. This took me about a week to get used to. You
only need to do this for two weeks after leaving the hospital.
The
room I stayed in was a deluxe room, with my own bathroom, sofa, bed, TV
(was great, the cricket was on) and very clean. In fact a guy comes
around twice a day and makes sure the room is clean. One day a nurse
said to me that I wasn't neat enough with my own bags of clothes, she
said 'I was making my room unattractive'. We both laughed. The nurses
comprehension of English is varied, however, there is always a nurse
that understands English well and if the nurse can't understand you,
she will bring back a nurse who will understand you.
The Results:
Ash didn't meet my expectations, he far exceeded them. I was expecting
about a 60% improvement on my jaw line and a 20-30% improvement on my
face. Well the jaw line has to be 2 times what I was expecting and my
face about 5 times more than what I was expecting. In comparison my
face looks so much better proportioned, and acne scars blended into the
face, so I look a lot better than I did before. I am coming back in Feb
to have my face polished and peeled just to make it that 100%. Remember
to set expectations to realistic goals and you will always be happy. I
didn't go into surgery saying my skin will look like a calvin Klien
model after the operation.
Ash
also organised a spa day for me, which was excellent, shopping trip
which there were lots of bargains to be had and visits to temples,
Gandhi memorial camp and such. It felt like I had a holiday.
I would absolutely, unequivocally recommend surgery in India with Ash.
